Evaluation and Treatment
Pelvic prolapse occurs when the pelvic organs (uterus, bladder, rectum) prolapse into the vaginal wall. Prolapse can vary in severity and can present with or without symptoms. It is a common condition that can have a detrimental impact on body image, sexuality, daily activities, and exercise.
Treatment options can include the use of a pessary (plastic device inserted vaginally to hold organs in place), physical therapy, and surgery.
Our physician can evaluate the degree of prolapse and discuss possible treatment options.
