Congratulations… You’re Going to Have a Baby!
Having a child is one of the most amazing times a woman will experience in her lifetime, but it can also make for some sleepless nights. We know this can be an anxious time and that’s why the Board Certified physicians and the entire care team at each of our OB/GYN of Indiana locations stand ready to care for you throughout this exciting journey.
The well-trained physicians at OB/GYN of Indiana deliver more than 3,000 babies per year in the Central Indiana area. This experience has taught us that each Mom and her situation is unique; so, we will work alongside you and your partner to develop an individualized care plan designed to deliver the best possible care for you and your expected newborn.
We’re with you every step of the way.
What to Expect
During your initial OB visit, you will meet with one of our specially-trained OB nurse educators to review your health history and receive general OB education. We will review important information such as dietary recommendations, travel restrictions, routine prenatal testing, and even specific care based on your health history.
Because pregnancy is a time of great change for your body as well as your fetus, you will be visiting our office on a regular basis. During your visits, our physicians and other members of your care team will carefully monitor your progress and the development of your baby and will provide treatment and recommendations specific to your needs.
ROUTINE VISITS ARE SCHEDULED:
- Every 4 weeks until 28 weeks
- Every 2 weeks from 28-36 weeks
- Weekly from 36 weeks to delivery
- We may request that you be seen more frequently if you are considered high-risk
Routine ultrasounds are performed in the first trimester and between 18-20 weeks in our office. These will be ordered by your physician and can be performed in our office.
We’re proud to offer delivery services at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital, I.U. North, St. Vincent Fishers, St. Vincent Women’s Hospital Indianapolis, Franciscan Hospital in Indianapolis, and Community South. We also have a physician available for emergency needs 24/7.
